Pike's 1923 Buccanoy shirt is the right choice if you want something a little more upscale. What inspired them to do this? All shirts in their 1923 Buccanoy series are based on a historical model from the 1920s, which itself looks back on a much older tradition. Since the middle of the 19th century, men's fashion has favoured stand-up collar shirts. The highlight of the reduced collar shape: short stand-up collars offered the possibility of buttoning on another, more elegant collar - at that time the favourite was the so-called parricide. The removable add-on not only gave the shirt a more formal character, but it also made it easier to clean and strengthen the collar part, which was more prone to wear and tear and got dirty more quickly. This type of shirt enjoyed great popularity until the 1940s, until it was increasingly replaced by the models with turn-down collars, which are widely used today and are firmly attached to the shirt.

Pike pay homage to the original - it is also possible to button a collar on our Buccanoy shirts.
